We are looking for an enthusiastic Housekeeper to join our friendly Medical Centre team.
Medical Centre Housekeeper
Part Time (Monday – Friday, 5.5 hours per day, Term Time only plus additional Saturday shifts of 3 hours when students are on site)
Salary: £12.61 per hour
We are looking for an enthusiastic and passionate individual to join our friendly Medical Centre team.
Playing a key role in the School Health Centre, the post holders are responsible for providing a first-class housekeeping and cleaning service site wide to the Medical Centre. The purpose of the role is to:
- Clean all rooms and corridors to the required standard in the Medical Centre (ground and first floor) as per cleaning schedule. Completing audit checklists as required.
- Strip, clean and make beds as required. Bag up linen for collection by porters.
- Sort and store clean laundry.
- Liaise with medical centre nurses to prioritise work, particularly at busy times.
- Use appropriate cleaning equipment and PPE as required for any inpatient who is infectious, following infection control policies and procedures.
- Support infection control link nurse and senior nurse with infection control audits.
- Launder general use cloths and mop heads in the Medical Centre washing machine on a regular basis.
- Run the bedpan washer daily and replenish cleaning fluid as required.
- Check and replenish consumables in all areas
- Support nursing staff to create a clean, safe and inclusive environment for students accessing the Medical Centre
- Prepare breakfasts, take lunch orders and prepare snacks and drinks for students who are inpatients.
- Keep a check on kitchen stock levels, liaising with catering for stock supplied in house and assisting with Tesco food order.
- Raise repairs and maintenance tasks with the building maintenance team and keep the senior nurse updated with progress.
