Applications are invited to join our team of Porters.
The role reports to the Grounds Manager and is a busy and physically demanding role that will require you to have excellent customer facing skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Duties will include such tasks as the daily collection and delivery of laundry; the setting up and taking down of equipment, furniture and signage for events and functions; collection and delivery of goods and parcels around the site and providing a transport and porterage service for off-site events. A full clean driving licence is essential for this role as you will be required to drive school vehicles.
Normal hours of work are 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Friday with one hour lunch break (unpaid) and, on an occasional basis, 08:00 to 16:00 Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch break (unpaid) to cover the stores department that the Portering team look after. Additional work outside of these hours is required from time to time. There are also between 10 – 13 weekend days per year either Saturday or Sunday when working is required to support regular school events.
