Applications are invited to join our team of Porters. Previous experience of working in a residential or boarding school environment would be an advantage.
The role reports to the Grounds Manager and is a busy and physically demanding role that will require you to have excellent customer facing skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines. Duties will include such tasks as the daily collection and delivery of laundry; the setting up and taking down of equipment, furniture and signage for events and functions; collection and delivery of goods and parcels around the site and providing a transport and porterage service for off-site events. A full clean driving licence is essential for this role as you will be required to drive school vehicles.
Hours of work are currently 7:30 to 4:00 Monday to Friday, plus around 10 to 13 weekend days per year (either Saturday or Sunday), although occasional additional work outside of these hours is required.
