Christ’s Hospital has pioneered social mobility and challenged social inequality to provide an unrivalled start in life for disadvantaged children for nearly five centuries.  We are seeking to appoint a full time, year round Theatre Technical Manager for September 2022.

The Theatre Technical Manager will report to the Director of Drama to provide technical support to all events held in the theatre and other venues at Christ’s Hospital School.   This will include helping with the lighting, sound and set design for pupil performances, as well as setting up the theatre for lectures, outside comedy evenings and staff training events.  Outside of term time the Manager will report to the CHEL Manager to support the School’s commercial activities.

The role will includes managing all aspects of Health & Safety relative to stage technical installations and associated equipment and to administer systems to demonstrate good housekeeping.  The theatre technician will be required to respond efficiently to the technical needs of internal and external bookings and to ensure that all technical requirements are recorded and all shows and presentations are closely monitored and meet safety standards.
