Wardrobe Assistant
Based in Horsham, Christ’s Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable foundation which provides first class education to around 900 children from all backgrounds, supported by over 500 members of staff.
The Christ’s Hospital uniform is historic, unique and world famous. An opportunity has arisen for the right applicant to assist in our Wardrobe department, supplying and fitting this uniform to our pupils. This is a very varied role, and although sewing is an essential skill (repairs and alterations), the duties will also include stock control, measuring and fitting, ordering and issuing corporate clothing for support staff and clerical duties. The successful candidate will need to be a competent seamster /seamstress. Experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage.
Hours during term time are 7.30am – 2.30pm Monday – Friday (half hour lunch break). Hours during school holidays are generally 7.30am – 2.30pm Monday – Thursday (half hour lunch break) but there is some flexibility. There will additionally be a need for some weekend work at the start of each term (Saturday & Sunday afternoon at the start of the Autumn term and a couple of hours in the early evening on the Sunday at the beginning of the Spring and Summer terms).
Some flexibility with hours of work can be considered for the right applicant. If you require some flexibility please state your preference on your application.
The Salary for the role is circa £19,000 for 1560 hours per annum. We offer 6.2 weeks paid holiday (including bank holidays), the opportunity to join a stakeholder pension scheme, free on-site parking, free lunch during term time and discounted membership of the on-site Sports Centre.
