Based in Horsham, Christ’s Hospital is a unique co-educational boarding school and charitable foundation which provides first class education to around 900 children from all backgrounds, supported by around 500 members of staff. We are looking to add to our team of leaders in our busy housekeeping department, working Wednesday to Sunday. The role is permanent, full time, working 40 hours over five days from Wednesday to Sunday, during both term and non-term time.

You will provide support, assistance and leadership to the housekeeping department. Whist mainly supervisory, you will, at times, be required to cover the roles of those you manage in the Cleaning team and associated departments within support services, and as such engage in physical cleaning etc.

On weekdays you will work alongside the existing Team Leaders within the housekeeping department in training, supervising, assisting and monitoring team performance.

On Saturdays and Sundays you will be responsible for leading the weekend team across the cleaning operation, with the potential to be utilised in other areas, such as portering and/or laundry operations if required.

Other duties include assisting the Operations Manager with waste management strategy. This will involve our approach to reduce waste and thus costs, increase recycling and lessen the impact on the environment of the housekeeping department, residents and pupils.

Annual Salary is £28,400. Benefits include a competitive salary, 23 days holiday, plus bank holidays, membership of the pension scheme, free onsite parking, free lunch during term-time, access to our Employee Assistance Programme and reduced cost membership of the onsite Bluecoat Sports Centre.

We welcome applications from all sectors of the community as we aspire to attract staff that match the social and cultural diversity of our pupil body. We consider the most important factor to be the right skills, abilities and attitude for the job which will ultimately improve the well-being and education of the pupils.
