Share

On 4 March, Director of Education at Shakespeare’s Globe, Professor Farah Karim-Cooper, gave a lecture on Shakespeare, race, and the history of the Globe Theatre.

She explained the history of racism in theatre and how the style of Shakespeare’s scripts are tailored to the Globe’s architecture.

Amelie (GE/Year 11) said: ‘As a drama student, it was incredibly impactful to hear a different perspective on society’s most beloved native playwright. I was inspired by Professor Karim-Cooper’s passion and depth of knowledge within her field – I will be watching her career with great interest and hope to hear her speak again in the future!’
