Run Barns Green 2024

Share

Join in Run Barns Green on 29 September

In 2019 fellow Old Blues heard of the tragic passing of their friend and CH brother, Justin Brotherton (PeB, MdB, MdA 87-94). They decided soon after that, that they wanted to honour his memory and came up with the idea of an annual run to raise money for the school’s mental health charity. Postponed due to COVID, they will be on their 3rd Barns Green 10k this year. The route for this race runs straight up the avenue at Christ’s Hospital, before taking in big side and the old steeplechase course, which makes it the perfect nostalgia run, (though the event organisers do frown upon anyone taking a short cut through Shelley’s Wood!)

As it will be 30 years this year since Justin and his friends left CH, they would like a big push to get 30 old blues (or more), to run the race on 29 September 2024 and raise as close to £10,000 as possible. “10k for 10k”. If you are interested in running, you can register here.

If you would like to get involved either running or fund raising, please email organiser, Justin Sheppy (MdA 87-94) at jmsheppy@gmail.com and he will add you to their WhatsApp group. This will help the team to coordinate meeting up, running on the day and fund raising through our just giving page:

www.JustGiving.com/runningforjustin

Justin and the team would of course appreciate and welcome any support on the day, and will be meeting up afterwards in the Bax Castle pub for a warm down with a cold drink.
