The CCF held its annual dinner night and award ceremony on Saturday 20 April. This formal event is planned by the senior cadets and is a celebration of their achievements. Attendees included Mr Robert Pooley, who presented the sword to our Senior Cadet, the Head Teacher, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Head, along with 86 cadets and staff. During the evening, the DG (Year 12) cadets were informed of their appointments for the next school year.
The awards are:
The Pooley Sword: Is awarded to the member of the Combined Cadet Force who has most demonstrated the power to lead, whilst exhibiting the qualities of responsibility, self-reliance, resourcefulness, endurance, and perseverance – WO1 (RSM) Ollie
The Britannia Award: Presented to the most outstanding CCF (RN) Cadet who has demonstrated excellence in instruction and inspired others to succeed – WO2 Josh
The Elstob Trophy: Is awarded to the Best GE RN Cadet who has demonstrated excellence or exemplary potential in their chosen service and has contributed to the wider aspects of the CCF – Able Cdt Aspen
The Josh Leakey Trophy: Is awarded to the Best Army Cadet who has demonstrated excellence in the instruction of other cadets and inspiring them to succeed – WO2 (CSM) Oscar
The Army Cup: Is awarded to the best GE Army Cadet, who stands out in leadership and inspiration to all – Cpl Hetty
The Jamie Cox Memorial Trophy: This is awarded to the Best RAF Cadet, who stands out in leadership and inspiration to all – WO2 Sapphire
Barnes Wallis Cup: Is awarded to the best GE RAF Cadet, who stands out in leadership and inspiration to all – LCpl Javina
The Goddard Prize for Military Instruction: This is awarded to the Tri-Servicecadet who has demonstrated excellence in the instruction of junior cadets and inspiring them to succeed – WO2 (CSM) Ella
