Engineering Scholarship

Congratulations to DG (Year 13) student Vieran, who has been awarded the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, which offers support to 16-year-olds through their A levels.

Vieran has been assigned a sponsor, who is DePuy Synths, part of the Johnson and Johnson group, and has one of the most comprehensive orthopaedic portfolios in the world. This sponsor will give Vieran work experience, support for projects and a personal mentor.

Getting the scholarship was a rigorous process, with the first stage being a student application with teacher endorsement, the second stage being a two-hour aptitude exam and the final stage a 30-minute panel interview.

Vieran is one of 300 successful candidates out of an incredible 1,391 applicants – what an achievement!
