Review by Margaret (GE/Year 11):

On April 27 we were excited to welcome bestselling writer, feminist and founder of the Everyday Sexism Project, Laura Bates. In her fascinating talk, she discussed the systemic issue of sexism that leads to widespread problems affecting people of all genders. She examined the forms of sexism that take place every day, and her own experiences of harassment and misogyny that led her to establish the Everyday Sexism Project in 2012, which has grown into a collection of hundreds of thousands of experiences of misogyny, abuse, harassment, and discrimination spanning across the world. Her engaging and hard-hitting speech broke down the types of sexism that women face in different settings, empowering us all to call out such behaviour and leaving us with ways to tackle harassment and sexism.
