From 17 to 19 March, 26 senior pupils took part in the annual MUN conference at Haileybury School. Representing Japan, Croatia, Moldova, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Costa Rica and the Solomon Islands, they debated a range of current issues across several different committees, exercising their skills in lobbying, public speaking and diplomacy. Hoyeon and George (both GE/Year 11), Evie (DG/Year 12), and Timi, Ciru and Amelie (all GR/Year 13) were all successful in getting their resolutions passed by vote. George went on to speak in support of his resolution to the 500-strong General Assembly. Jacob (GR/Year 13) was highly commended for his work on the economic and social committee, while Evie was named one of the distinguished delegates on the human rights committee. A successful weekend all round!
