Vaccine Hub Work Experience

Over the last couple of weeks, DG (Year 12) pupils from MedSoc have been lucky enough to be able to do some work experience at the vaccination centre in BCS with the help of our Senior Nurse  Elaine Kimber and Dr Matt Greenwood.

Chelsea said: “I really enjoyed shadowing Dr McClain, talking to people getting the vaccine and talking to the pharmacists distributing the vaccine. I watched how each dose of the Pfizer vaccine is done. I also learnt about the deltoid muscle”

Nimue said: “I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to shadow an amazing team at the BCS vaccination site, it was an incredibly insightful experience into the work of healthcare professionals. I did not only learn about the vaccination process but also got to know an amazing team of doctors and pharmacists who taught me everything about their field. I am overwhelmed with the generosity and help everyone was able to give me to support my way into the medical field. A big thank you to everyone who has made this possible!”
