Christ’s Hospital’s Afro-Caribbean Society held a multicultural fashion show on 12 June and invited pupils of all cultures to take part.
The event was a creative affair which involved pupils showcasing their favourite cultural wear and speaking briefly about their backgrounds. The show also featured a varied programme of skits, dances and quizzes. In addition, the audience was treated to a menu of African and Caribbean food to gain a real taste, in the literal sense of the word, of a different culture.
The Christ’s Hospital ACS is a vibrant society open to any pupils wanting to discuss global and local issues regarding the Afro-Caribbean community. In 2020, the ACS banded together with various teams and departments within the School community to ‘Celebrate Black Excellence’ with a range of events throughout the academic year – from panel discussions with Old Blue (former pupil) entrepreneurs and Saturday night events, to collaborating with the catering team and hearing from other university Afro-Caribbean Societies.
