12-year-old Ruari Finnegan, a Second Form/Year 7 pupil at Christ’s Hospital, has landed a starring role in the award-winning play Shadowlands at Chichester Festival Theatre. Ruari, who is from Faygate near Horsham, will be playing C.S. Lewis’s stepson Douglas, opposite Hugh Bonneville and Liz White, in William Nicholson’s much-loved play. The play will be running from 26 April to 26 May, with Ruari sharing the role of Douglas and acting in half of the eight performances per week.
Deputy Grecian Daniel Onyango-Osuga was paired together with Old Blue, Jan de Walden, through our Donation Governorship scheme. Their story is an ongoing journey that demonstrates the importance and value of a supportive Governor for current pupils and the whole ethos of Christ’s Hospital.
Second Blue Fund Target Achieved - Thank You!
We have now reached our overall Blue Fund target of £190,000 to fund another child at CH! Your incredible support along with over 300 Old Blues, parents, staff and friends, has made this possible, demonstrating that joining forces and giving little and often can make a HUGE impact.
The £190,000 will provide a full 7 year bursary at Christ’s Hospital for another child in financial or other need. This child will be the second Blue Fund Pupil to benefit from the collective support of the whole CH community and will start at CH in September 2018
We will of course continue our fundraising to kick start a third Blue Fund which will offer a life-changing opportunity to another child in need. Our new fundraising target is set at £210,000 which, by joining forces, is achievable.
